This gun is unsurpassed in VALUE. I bought ane almost, oh, maybe eight years agone, and just had my offset problem with it. And I've run over a g rounds through information technology and never cleaned the barrel.
All of a sudden it wasn't pumping up to full pressure. Yous tin can give it up to 10 pumps depending on how much yous want to devastate your target. I use two for a warning shot to the ass a few times to run off squirrels destroying stuff. Third shot, 10 pumps and a head shot. Done deal.
Anyway, all of a sudden it'due south not pumping at ALL, and every squirrel for a mile shows upwards at my bird feeders. And information technology's like they KNOW the gun is down! They unremarkably Wing away at the first sound of a window lock moving. At present they just sit in that location and laugh if I go out and try to scare them off. Broke a $ix.00 arrow on ane I got so aggravated.
Then I get to Wallmart where I bought it, and they are useless. No parts no service. I get to the gun shop. The owner says "You need "special" tools for them, no gun smith will touch one." And so this morning it's squirrel city in my 1000. Oh, by the manner, there are FOUR or five .177 pellets stuck in the butt at present. And then I pause off and straighten a coat hanger and ram rod out the pellets, from the muzzle stop dorsum.
I see that there'due south supposed to exist a safety plunger on the end of the pump mechanism and it'south missing. So I fire up the HOT GLUE and put a dab on the terminate of the metal pump machinery, and shut information technology, then tip the rifle cage downwards and allow it cool for a few minutes. Craxk open the fore cease as if to pump information technology up, and in that location'due south the condom I wanted to call back!
On the other end of the lever (fore terminate) is a pin which I knock out with a middle punch (nail set) and so there's one standard screw property the whole mess on to the bottom of the butt.
I utilize my .12 Ga cleaning pad to scrub the tube where the pump rod goes and spray it with light Remington oil. Removed the rubber plunger, cleaned the hot glue off and wipe information technology all downward and firmly press it dorsum into the part which holds it, and lightly lube information technology with gun oil.
Put it all dorsum together, and this baby is skilful as NEW! I came SO shut to dumping it in the trash and buying a new ane, but heck, I effigy I SAVED $fifty an hr which is every bit good as MAKING $50 an hour.
Hasn't been ONE darn squirrel in sight since I fixed it. leasantry:
The moral of the story is, I gauge you're supposed to continue that plunger LUBED! I was ever taught oil destroys prophylactic. Maybe a expert wet silicone spray once a month will practice the fob from now on.
